Löyly is a floating Finnish-style sauna on Okanagan Lake in downtown Kelowna.
What we offer is nothing new and nothing you need to prepare for.
It’s the same simple practice Finns have trusted for generations: good heat, cold water, and a place to slow down. Warm up. Cool down. Take a moment. Repeat as many times as you like.
We keep things straightforward. No performances, or pressure to experience sauna a certain way. Just a warm, welcoming space where you can settle in, share the sauna with others, jump in the lake, sit outside between rounds, and enjoy the experience however feels right to you.
The word Löyly comes from Finland. It refers to the steam and heat that rises when water is thrown onto the sauna stones but it also describes something harder to translate: the feeling or spirit of the sauna itself. It’s the part you can’t quite explain, but you know it when you feel it.
You’ll find us floating at Queensway Dock on the downtown Kelowna waterfront. There is street and public parking throughout downtown; we recommend giving yourself a little extra time to park and walk down to the dock before your session.
Bring a swimsuit, towel and water bottle.
Community sessions are shared and social, while private bookings give you the sauna to yourselves. We also offer silent sessions Either way, come as you are. No sauna experience required.
