Terms of Service
Overview
These Terms of Service govern your use of the SaunaScout platform, including all bookings, listings, and interactions between guests and hosts. By using SaunaScout, you agree to these terms.
The SaunaScout Platform
SaunaScout is a marketplace that connects people seeking sauna experiences with hosts who offer them. We are not a sauna operator - we provide the platform, tools, and payment infrastructure that enables hosts and guests to transact transparently. When you book a session, the agreement is directly between you and the host. SaunaScout introduces the two of you and processes the payment, but we are not a party to that booking, and we do not own, operate, or manage any sauna listed on the platform. The host is responsible for their space and for complying with the laws that apply to it.
Guest Responsibilities
As a guest, you agree to treat hosts and their spaces with respect, arrive on time and communicate any changes promptly, complete the required health waiver before each session, follow the house rules set by your host, and take responsibility for your own health and safety during a session.
Host Responsibilities
As a host, you agree to accurately represent your listing including photos, amenities, and availability, maintain your sauna in a safe and clean condition, communicate promptly with guests before and after bookings, follow all applicable local laws and regulations, and honour confirmed bookings except in genuine emergencies.
Bookings & Payments
All bookings are processed securely through SaunaScout. Hosts choose one of two booking modes for each listing: Instant Book: Guests confirm a session immediately. The Guest's card is charged at the time of booking. Request to Book: Guests submit a booking request. The Guest's card is authorized (a hold is placed) but not charged. The Host has 24 hours to approve or decline the request. If approved, the card is charged and the booking is confirmed. If declined or if the Host does not respond within 24 hours, the request expires and the hold is automatically released. SaunaScout charges a service fee on each booking; service fees are paid by Guests on top of the Host's listing price. Hosts receive their full listed session price; payouts are processed to the Host's bank account following the completion of a Session. Guests and Hosts are responsible for reviewing cancellation policies before confirming a booking.
Cancellations & Refunds
SaunaScout's standard cancellation policy applies to all confirmed bookings: Guests receive a full refund for cancellations made more than 48 hours before the scheduled session. Cancellations within 48 hours are non-refundable. Host-initiated cancellations of confirmed bookings result in a full refund to the Guest. For pending Request to Book bookings, Guests may withdraw their request at any time before the Host responds; no charge is processed and any hold is released. Hosts may decline a pending request without penalty; the Guest's hold is released automatically. SaunaScout reserves the right to issue refunds at its discretion in cases of dispute.
Prohibited Conduct
Users may not misrepresent their identity or listing, use the platform for any unlawful purpose, circumvent the SaunaScout booking system to transact directly, harass or harm other users, or attempt to manipulate reviews or ratings.
Limitation of Liability
SaunaScout is a marketplace platform and is not liable for the actions of hosts or guests, the condition of listed properties, or any injury, loss, or damage arising from a booking. Users participate at their own risk and are encouraged to exercise good judgment.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify users of material changes via email. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
